June 2014: The Month so far.....

We started June out with a favorite meal, calzones and cider.
We watched the bees and noticed there seemed to be less than usual.

Our strawberries ripened and were made into waffles.

The fig tree survived the winter :)
And our delphinium bloomed.

So did the California Poppy.
Our tomatoes were planted and started to produce fruit.

We had a little rain; the plants loved it.

Check it out!!  We saw a rainbow!
A double rainbow!!
Kia spent a ton of time outside.

This guy visited our yard.

Kia wanted to chase him, but then she remembered she's old :)
We ate at Cornbread Cafe in Eugene for the first time.  Yum!
I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer brings.

May 13, 2014: Rhodie

The rhodie is in full bloom today :)
It's so beautiful.
And Kia is loving this warm weather we are having.

May 2, 2014: Albany Wine Walk

This was our first year doing the Wine Walk.  It was fun.  We got to visit some of the downtown lofts and businesses that we would never normally visit and, of course, we got to drink some wine :)

The historic Carousel was really fun.  It was neat to see how they are carving all the different animals.
We saw some beautiful wisteria on the walk home.

May 9-11, 2014: What a Weekend!

This weekend, Rob and I decided to celebrate our upcoming anniversary with a little vacation.  First we went to the Seattle Art Museum to see the Joan MirĂ³ exhibit.  We couldn't take any pictures of the MirĂ³ exhibit but we did see lots of other fun art, like this giant rat.

We tried hiding out in one of the Africa exhibits.
We also saw this really beautiful carved Italian room.
We had dinner and cocktails at Wild Ginger.
 Yum!
On Sunday night we went to see George Clinton and the Parliament Funkedelic.
That's George in the grey suit in the middle.
 Very talented guitarists.
 It was an amazing show.
At times, it seemed like there were 20 people on the stage at one time :)

May 11, 2014: What's Blooming in the Garden

Our irises are almost done...
while the lupine are just starting.
Fruit is growing everywhere:  cherries,
strawberries,
and blueberries.
Perhaps the most exciting thing of all: our Rhodie is finally blooming, after 4 years with no flowers!
Oh, and Rob found a baby bird in our backyard today.  He's hiding in the fence.
I love spring!

Beginning of 2014: Cleaning out Rob's Camera

We have not been taking as many photos this year and, obviously, we have not been posting much on this blog.  So, I decided to clean out Rob's camera and give an update on what we've been up to so far this year.

We got some new hats and we love them.  They are so much fun!

We have been playing with the camera timer.
Rainbow!
We had about 2 weeks of snow days.

And lost some large tree limbs in the backyard.
What would a blog post be without a picture of the cat.  She reacquainted herself with her favorite tape measure this winter.  I don't know what she sees in it, but she loves it!
More to come when I clean out the next camera :)
