January 8

Rob went on a bike ride. I did not. I ran errands instead, and boy am I glad I did not go. He may have gotten to see some beautiful scenery, but it rained on him. As I was leaving the grocery store, I felt the first drops of rain, and I was so happy I had not gone on that bike ride. About two minutes after he arrived home, it started to hail. He got lucky.
Made lasagne for dinner. Yummy.

Wednesday

January 5

I am reading a very fun book and possibly thinking about making myself an origami yoda. How awesome would that be!Over winter break, on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day to be exact, Rob and I replaced the bathroom sink in the downstairs bathroom. It took a lot of drilling, twisting, prying, sawing, buyng new supplies, redoing, undoing, re-redoing and finagling(sp?), but it finally was done, and we LOVE it. Here is a picture of our new sink. We still have more plans for this bathroom. It is nowhere near done. There is tile and paint in its future.

If you are wondering why we decided to take on such a tricky job, take a look at the original sink, which now lives in the basement. Not only was it lacking counter and storage space, but it stood(hung?) just over two feet off the floor. While it was hilarious watching Rob try to wash his hands, bent over double with his legs spread wide, his back was not laughing :(
Our new sink is so much more awesomer!

January 4: Driving Home From Work

It was a super cold day, and even at 4pm, the morning frost lingered.

It was overcast and dreary, but no rain.

Monday

January 3: We start yoga class

Rob and I started a yoga class tonight. We were supposed to bring yoga mats and blankets, so I packed us a bag to take with us. The instructor was really nice although sometimes it was hard to hear her clearly. We both enjoyed the class, and I am already looking forward to Wednesday when we get to go again :) I was wondering through the whole class why we had to bring blankets, and then we got to the relaxation time. I looked around, and everyone was wrapping themselves in blankets, pulling on warm swearshirts and wool hats, then lying down on their yoga mats to relax and listen to some peaceful music. Pretty cool. Both of our pictures were obviously inspired by yoga class today....

...although Rob got a little more artistic with his shot.

Sunday

January 2

We bought this new sideboard for our kitchen today, for all of our new dishes and glassware.
Then Rob got this shot of the beautiful sunset.

January 1: The project begins again

Rob and I have decided to start project 365 again. Just like we did in 2009, we will take a picture each day this year and post to this blog. Here is day 1 of project 365, 2011.

In 2010, 10 abandoned buildings were set on fire in Albany, Oregon. This picture is the fence next to one of these houses. It stood near where we currently live. Hopefully, in 2011 we will have no more arson in the neighborhood.
And here is our lone Christmas decoration, the Elvis Christmas stocking. Most awesome thing ever!
